The Event – 2025

Are you Ready?

FAQ

Easy.  Just run.  All February long.  Log your miles, and check the leaderboard to see how you are standing.

Registration is $50.

During February, we will have several events scheduled.  If you want to come to an event, by all means DO!  But if you can’t, that’s fine too.  The events are for the camaraderie.  We like our food and beer almost as much as we like our running.

Teams: You can join a team of up to 10 other runners.  Top 7 will count towards the final team total.  The team with top mileage will get to select a charity for 2026 Run Cajun Run.  But you do NOT have to join a team!

Great – not everyone runs.  We encourage participation with Rucking.  How much weight do you carry?  That is entirely up to you – is “I carried my car keys!” a ruck?  If you want it to be – then BY ALL MEANS YES!  You are moving and participating.  That counts!

Leaderboards will separate rucking miles from running miles, so don’t worry about trying to keep up with those foolhardy ultra marathons.  You can still find your name on the lists.

And you can still seek pledges for your running miles.

And best of all – you still get one of these awesome soft shirts that will be the talk of EVERYONE!

No!

Teams are great for camraderie and encouragement.  But don’t feel as if you have to be on a team to participate.  If you like running by yourself, you can 100% sign up by yourself and still participate in everything.

Do you have to?  No.  But we certainly believe you’ll enjoy them if you do!  The events can challenge you in different ways:

  • Just a Mile: Running a mile is easy, right?  Especially in 20 minutes.  But can you do that for 3 hours?  4 hours?  Longer?
  • Youth Run NOLA: Meet the Youth Run NOLA kids.  Learn about being a mentor.  Show by example how fun running and fitness can be.
  • City Pork: Persevere.  And celebrate with a pig roast.

We certainly hope you’ll consider showing up to one or more events.  Meet some of the other participants, and talk with folks about the causes they believe in.  And share some food, drink and camaraderie.

Lots of things!

  1. The knowledge that you are contributing to some great causes.
  2. The motivation to push yourself to run.
  3. Access to some awesome running events
  4. And perhaps most importantly – any swag, including this years one-of-a-kind Run Cajun Run T-Shirt.

Youth Run NOLA children will be participating in Run Cajun Run.  And we will be providing them with t-shirts and other swag!

For $250, you can get your own entry for Run Cajun Run and cover the costs to give a team of 10 Youth Run NOLA kids their shirts.  Plus, you will get one entry to the Youth Run NOLA 504k event on March 2nd.

If you are available to run at the Youth Run NOLA Event on February 3rd – come out and meet some of the kids that you are helping to participate and get healthy through running.

Check the Past Results.  Every year, we have runners exceeding 250, 200 or even 400 miles (Frank, i.e., “Tanked Up” still holds the monthly record of 402 miles in February of 2022).

But you don’t have to measure up to anyone but yourself.  We want you to have fun and challenge yourself.  This is you-versus-you.  Can you make a commitment and meet it? You aren’t running against the people participating with you.  You are all running together, helping support fitness and health focused charities and services.

You set your own goal.  And then beat it by at least 1 mile!

Check back here on the website, where a leaderboard will be published.   You’ll be able to see your mileage, your team’s mileage, and who is putting up the HUGE numbers.

(If our crack IT staff can get it working – it’ll be live.  If the IT staff continues to drag their feet, it will only update daily.)

And come out to the Closing Ceremony where we will announce and recognize the top participants.

Do you have connections to help us get prizes?  Please let us know!  We hope to have prizes for:

  • Top Individual Mileage (Run and Ruck)
  • Top Team Mileage (Run and Ruck)
  • Top Daily Loggers
  • Youth Run NOLA runners who exceed their monthly targets
  • Top Fund raisers

Run Cajun Run started with a group of local F3 participants who wanted to do something new and different.  Locally, the group has been working out at 5:30 am since October of 2014.  But this event gave us the opportunity to do something new and make a difference in our community.
